Authentic Christianity is about the ‘crown’ and the ‘cross’. However, Christians often seek after the ‘crown’ which represents blessings and do not embrace the ‘cross’ which is associated with hardship. Like the artwork, we tend to focus on the ‘crown’ and push the ‘cross’ to the background.
The ‘cross’ is not just about suffering and hardship but also includes the process of following Christ, obedience and discipleship. Growing in Christlikeness may not be comfortable but it is the biggest blessing one can ever receive.
Not accepting the ‘cross’ leads to unauthentic faith which will bring disappointment, discouragement and disillusionment. Make the wise choice today!
