In 2 Kings 6:8-23, Elisha’s servant was afraid when he saw themselves surrounded by the powerful Aramean army. But Elisha told him that “those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” His servant couldn’t see it but Elisha could see God’s army at the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around.
It’s natural to use our physical eyes to see and understand reality. But spiritual promises require our spiritual strength to believe in them. For example, we should not be worried when we don’t feel God’s physical presence because the truth, He is Emmanuel, God with us, should strengthened our inner being.
One’s spiritual strength is often neglected as we do not give much priority building it. The good news is that it is never too late to start. After Elisha prayed, the servant could see the horses and the chariots on the hills! Likewise, we can begin by praying to God to make a fresh commitment.
